Artist In Residence 2024 ~2025

Professionally known as James Madx (he/him), is an alternative R&B singer, songwriter, and record producer. In a fresh wave of his artistic expression, James has birthed a new project under the name Thistles, creating sonic atmospheres to bring a sense of calm and peace to restore the mind, soul and body.

In 2024, he released a self-titled debut album, Thistles, and a collaborative album with a church called The Well entitled Epiphany: Frequencies of Healing.

As part of his Artist in Residence, Thistles and Moxi are teaming up to provide a unique musical identity for the space with the purpose of providing a restorative musical atmosphere to support clinicians and patients in and during sessions. The hope is that this collaboration will be a useful tool in people’s healing journeys. Album is anticipated to be released in 2025.
